Document management the way it's meant to work

Case study: LFV

When the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration (LFV) conducted an internal investigation, it became clear that the existing handling of documents and cases no longer met the needs of the business. Information was stored in several parallel systems, which created both ambiguity around versions and increased costs for storage and administration. At the same time, there was a need for a more modern, secure and configurable system that could also replace additional support systems in the long term.

After an extensive evaluation process, LFV chose Advantum from InfoTech Scandinavia as its new case and document management system.

A strategic choice for the future

Lars Berglund at LFV describes the background to the decision:

– "It really involved many considerations", he explains. “The same operational information was stored in many different places within LFV, and this naturally meant greater storing costs and confusion about where the latest version was. Moreover, we needed a more efficient system and to improve how we handled classified documents. The template and drawings management was outdated and could no longer be upgraded securely. Managing operational information was also inefficient and resource intensive.

Advantum's flexibility and broad functionality made it possible to meet these challenges within the framework of a single system.

Advantum replaces several separate systems

Thanks to Advantum's extensive functionality and flexibility, Advantum has today replaced four of LFV's systems for handling, among other things, cases, documents and drawings. Advantum today offers specialized industry solutions developed in collaboration with some of Sweden's leading companies.

From multiple systems to one single cohesive solution

Thanks to Advantum's configurability and support for both document, case and drawing management, LFV has been able to consolidate its IT environment. Today, Advantum has replaced four previous systems that were used to manage cases, documents and drawings, among other things.

The result is more unified information management, improved control over versions and permissions, and more efficient workflows throughout the organization.

An operation with extremely high safety requirements

LFV is a public company with approximately 1,300 employees and is responsible for air navigation services for civil and military customers at 32 air traffic control towers in Sweden and at two control centers.
