InfoTech Scandinavia supports the Star For Life project's work in creating a long-term and sustainable development of AIDS prevention in South Africa. Through Star For Life, we get a unique opportunity to create hope for the future for children in South Africa and as a company take our social responsibility. Star for Life started in 2005 and today reaches more than 100,000 young people and their families in South Africa, Namibia and Sri Lanka. The organization is run on a non-profit basis and is politically and religiously independent.
Star for Life works according to a special educational idea or model. The idea is to strengthen school students' self-confidence and self-esteem with the intention of directly or indirectly creating more positive attitudes to life, the importance of education, increasing knowledge about HIV/AIDS and motivating healthier behavior and safer sexual behavior.
Star for Life works actively in the existing school structure in South Africa and Namibia. This means that Star for Life does not start any schools of its own, but offers existing schools to incorporate the program at the school. That measures are implemented within already established structures, i.e. at existing schools, makes the operation cost-effective.
